Bathroom remodel of 1914 Moorhead house. After demolition of old tile surround, tub, and vanity a caste iron tub was installed. Cementous backer board served as substrate for both the new tile surround and tiled floor thus providing superior resistance to water. The clients selected a classic bead-board wainscoting of MDF siding and solid pine trim. Replacing the old vanity with a pedestal sink makes the room appear larger than it is. Clients also employed a plumber to install a Swedish towel warmer that also doubled as the room’s heat source. A delightful new bath for a cost of approximately $5000.

"I'm in love with our new bathroom. It not only looks great, but I feel good about our investment knowing that quality construction methods were used in its renovation.  This (Malcolm's) attention to quality means that out new bathroom is able to withstand the heavy demands our family puts on it, and still looks great when guests visit the house."
Gretchen H. Moorhead, Minnesota.

Bathroom addition to a North Moorhead home. Clients decided to remove an unused back stairway in order to create a small half bath off the kitchen in their 1905 home. The upper level stairway they converted to a storage space. As a result of settling, the floor was seriously out of level. Installing a new plywood subfloor and pouring a self-leveling compound corrected this. Two inch tile with black diamond pattern produced an eye-catching floor appropriate to the home’s original style. A half-depth vanity covered pipes that entered through the floor without overwhelming the room’s small dimensions.

"Malcolm has an eye for classic design and the craftmanship skills to bring it to life.  He turned our useless backstairs into a charming half bath.  Now when we have company for dinner we don't have to send them upstairs.  We plan to have him back for our next project." Kris T. "Malcolm has worked on my home numerous times--a large basement remodel, a bathroom remodel, and other smaller jobs.  His craftmanship, professionalism, and work ethic are the reasons I keep calling him when I have projects or repairs to be done."  Joy L.  Moorhead, MN
